A golfers' paradise

The Zenit flat is situated next to two of the finest golf courses on the entire Costa del Sol, Los Lagos and Los Olivos, both have 18 holes and have recently been modernised and refurbished.

Los Lagos

This course is famous for its wide fairways lined by numerous lakes, hence the name "Los Lagos" (The Lakes). In fact, 9 of the 18 holes have a water feature. It also has many bunkers and trees strategically placed to protect the large, flat greens. The course was recently revamped to mark its 25th anniversary.

  • 18-hole golf course.
  • Par 71, 5975 metres in length, relatively flat, very long and technical, with many water obstacles, well-defined greens and wide fairways.
  • Built by Robert Trent Jones, the course gets its name from the lakes and water obstacles that are present on 9 of the 18 holes. Los Lagos is a flat course with wide fairways. The tees on holes 10 and 11 are located at the top of a hillock. Number 10 is the shortest hole and 13 is a par 5 with a steep slope.

Los Olivos

This course occupies a smaller area and offers different characteristics to those of Los Lagos: smaller greens, with steep slopes and well protected by bunkers. The many olive trees strategically located around the fairways mean that players must achieve a very precise, straight drive. Los Olivos was built between 1983 and 1984, though it was completely revamped in 2000-2001.

  • 18-hole golf course.
  • Par 72, 5545 metres in length, very pleasant to play on, with holes on the surrounding hills that are par 3, par 4 and par 5, respectively.
  • The greens have been enlarged by about 50%. The lake around holes 6, 7 and 8 has been totally re-built and re-lined with white stone. The old hole 4 is now straight and the par-3 hole 5 has been eliminated. The par-4 hole 13 has been straightened so that you can now see the green from the tee, and the par- 3 hole 14 has new tees set on a rise, plus a redesigned green with new bunkers.
